Electromechanical Engineer III

The Tsource Team needs an Electromechanical Engineer in the Columbia, Maryland area.

Our Electromechanical Engineer III’s lead the hardware packaging aspect of product design from concept through manufacturing. They actively participate in and guide Jr engineers in the design and manufacture of hybrid circuits, the mechanical design aspects of printed wiring board, flexible circuit and surface-mount technology boards. They select epoxies/encapsulants and develop advanced processes for volume restricted electronic packages. They also perform heat transfer, and structural analyses and apply design for reliability and manufacturability principles to their designs. They create solid models utilizing 3D parametric modeling software and create design documentation utilizing GD&T per ASME Y14.5.


Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.


Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.


Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.


Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.


Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results and/or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.


Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.

5-8+ years with BS in designated Engineering or related field.
TS/SCI with Poly
